Tara graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Miami, Florida in 2009 and completed training as a certified lymphedema therapist in 2017. Tara has had experience working as an oncology physical therapist since 2010 and has had experience working in two stem-cell transplant units in North Carolina and Illinois.

Tara has developed protocol at her hospital for the rehabilitation of the acute post-stem-cell transplant patient in the acute setting. She is currently working on developing a pre-hab and outpatient post-SCT program at her site.
Tara has had the opportunity to present oncology case studies at grand rounds while working at the University of North Carolina Hospitals (UNC Healthcare), in Chapel Hill, NC. Also while working at UNC Healthcare, she had the opportunity to guest lecture an oncology rehabilitation course for the UNC physical therapy graduate program.
Tara has had growing interest in developing the field of oncology rehabilitation with particular interest in oncology rehabilitation program development and how it can be translated globally.
Tara continues to speak to local cancer support groups throughout the Chicago regarding the side effects of cancer treatment and oncology rehabilitation.
