M.S.Satish, PT


M.S.Satish graduated from Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical university, is a senior Physiotherapist in the field of onco-rehabilitation from India. He has been working as an oncology physiotherapist since 2003, at Cancer institute (WIA), Chennai, India. He designs exercise protocols to Address Cancer Through Individualized Exercises (ACTIVE). He is also pursuing his doctorate in Physiotherapy-Psycho- Oncology (Inter disciplinary) at Madras university.


  • Evaluating and managing functional impairments from cancer sequelae.
  • Exercise intolerance in cancer.
  • Electro physiological agents to optimize onco-rehabiltation.
  • Preventive Oncology.
  • His clinical interest is in rehabilitation of cancer patients with revision limb salvage surgery.

Current field of research:

  • Exercise intervention to mitigate cancer related fatigue.
  • Breast cancer related lymphoedema quantify & manage.

  • Received the ‘Best Physiotherapist Award’ Conferred by the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University, Government ofTamil Nadu in Sept 2012. 
  • Oncology Special Interest Group Coordinator –World Confederation for Physical Therapy ( WCPT). (From 2012 - till date)
  • Central Executive Committee member - Indian Association of Physiotherapists(IAP). (From 2013 - till date)
  • Participated and Completed CReDO workshop-2017 (CReDO is an intensive oncology research protocol development workshop, participants selected on merit basis, and  modeled on similar workshops held in the United States (the AACR/ASCO Workshop on Methods in Clinical Cancer Research, Vail), Europe (ECCO-AACR-EORTC-ESMO Workshop on Methods in Clinical Cancer Research) and Australia (the ACORD Protocol Development Workshop).
